You can ask Tact to delete the data we hold about you at any time. How you do it depends on how you used Tact.
If you wrote a comment on a business that uses Tact
We hold your comment text, your public name or username, your Meta-scoped ID, and any reply Tact sent you for that business. To delete it:
- Email support@tactreply.com with the subject “Data deletion request”.
- Include your Facebook or Instagram profile name, or a link to your profile or to your comment, and the business you commented on if you know it.
We delete your comments and the replies we sent you within 30 days, usually much sooner, and confirm by email. We may ask a short question if we cannot find your comments from what you sent.
Deleting your data from Tact does not remove a comment you posted on Instagram or Facebook. You can delete that yourself on the post. You can also contact the business you commented on.
If you are a business using Tact
Option 1: in the app (fastest)
- Sign in and open Account.
- Click Delete account.
- Type your shop name to confirm, then click Delete everything.
This removes your shop, comments, messages, products, what you taught Tact and your Facebook connection right away. It cannot be undone.
Option 2: from Facebook (if you connected with Facebook)
- Open Facebook and go to Settings & privacy → Settings.
- Open Apps and websites (or Business integrations).
- Find Tact and choose Remove, then confirm the request to delete your data.
Facebook sends us a deletion request automatically. We remove your Facebook profile, its Pages, access tokens and their comments from Tact right away and give you a confirmation code. You can check its status on this page at any time. Your Tact login stays until you delete it with Option 1 or 3.
Option 3: by email
Email support@tactreply.com from your account email. We delete your account within 30 days, usually much sooner.
What we keep
We may keep a minimal record that a deletion happened (the confirmation code and date) to prove we honoured it, and anything the law requires us to keep. To give each shop only one free trial, we also keep a scrambled one-way fingerprint that cannot be read back. See our Privacy Policy for details.
