ManyChat is the better pick if you want to build DM flows, collect leads, send broadcasts and run several channels from one place. Tact fits better when your Facebook and Instagram ads get many comments written in Darija, Dziri or Gulf Arabic, when you sell cash on delivery or through WhatsApp, and when you want each buyer to get a real answer and an order link without building keyword flows.

Disclosure first: Tact is our product. We wrote this comparison to be useful even if you never sign up, and we say clearly where ManyChat is the stronger tool.

Key Takeaways

  • ManyChat's paid plans start at $14/mo billed annually, and its AI comes with Pro ($29/mo billed annually) and up (ManyChat pricing).
  • ManyChat covers Instagram, TikTok, Messenger, Telegram, WhatsApp, SMS and email. Tact covers Facebook and Instagram comments only.
  • Flows, lead magnets, broadcasts, many channels: use ManyChat.
  • Many ad comments in dialect, COD or WhatsApp orders, no time to build flows: Tact fits better.

What does ManyChat do with comments?

ManyChat turns comments into private conversations. You set a trigger, usually a keyword on a post, and ManyChat sends a DM that starts a flow you build: buttons, questions, links, tags. Its pricing page describes ready-made templates "to reply to comments, greet new followers, and share links in DMs instantly" (ManyChat pricing).

Keyword triggers and flows

Guides describe the comment trigger as keyword-based. You pick the post (one post, all posts or your next post), list your keywords, and choose the DM that goes out, often with a public reply too (Kanal guide to ManyChat for Instagram). Meta's own rules still apply: one private reply per comment, within 7 days (Meta for Developers, Private Replies).

This is powerful once it's built. A creator can say "comment GUIDE" and send hundreds of people a lead magnet in a day.

ManyChat AI

From the Pro plan up, ManyChat says you can "teach AI about your business and tone of voice" and let it reply to DMs, answer FAQs and "reply to positive comments" (ManyChat pricing). Which languages and dialects that AI handles well is not documented on the pricing page. Whether it can sort a complaint from a buyer in a comment, and hold it for you, is also not documented there.

Channels, broadcasts and lead capture

ManyChat is far ahead here. By plan, you can connect Instagram, TikTok, Facebook Messenger, Telegram, WhatsApp, SMS and email, send broadcasts, tag and segment contacts, and work in a shared inbox (ManyChat pricing). ManyChat says it is an official Meta Business Partner and also a TikTok partner. Tact does none of this.

How ManyChat charges

ManyChat bills by Active Contacts: each real person you message in a month counts once. Plans listed on 26 October 2026, billed annually:

  • Free: $0, 25 active contacts, up to 4 active automations, 2 channels.
  • Essential: $14/mo, 250 contacts, unlimited automations, no AI.
  • Pro: $29/mo, 2,500 contacts, AI, broadcasts, 3 channels.
  • Business: $69/mo, 7,500 contacts, all channels.
  • Advanced: $139/mo, 25,000 contacts.

Extra contacts cost from $0.10 down to $0.004 each, depending on the plan. Essential and Pro have a 14-day free trial (ManyChat pricing).

What does Tact do differently?

Tact reads each ad or post comment and writes a short public answer in the commenter's own language. That can be Moroccan Darija, Algerian Dziri, Gulf Arabic, Modern Standard Arabic, French or English, in Arabic or Latin letters. Tact works from meaning, with no flow to build.

What else it does:

  • Sends one private message to buyers. When someone is ready to buy, Tact sends one Meta private reply (inside the 7-day window) with the product and an order link. The link goes to your product page or a WhatsApp wa.me chat.
  • Hides spam under your ads and posts.
  • Holds what it isn't sure about. Complaints and unclear comments go to a review queue for you, not to the AI.
  • Checks facts before posting. Each reply is checked against your shop's real prices and links.
  • Lets you change anything. You can edit or undo every reply.
  • Uses Meta's official login.

Tact is new, with no customers, reviews or results to show yet. ManyChat says it is used by over 1 million creators, marketers and brands. Judge Tact on your own comments, not our word. See how it works.

Where do keyword flows break on ad comments?

Keyword flows break when buyers don't type your keyword. That's rare on an organic post where you told people "comment LINK". It's common on a paid ad, where strangers write whatever they want.

Take a Moroccan ad for a hair oil. People ask the price as "bchhal", "ch7al", "chhal", "بشحال", "شحال", "9dach", "taman" or just "prix?". An Algerian buyer may write "قداش". A Saudi buyer writes "بكم". In a keyword flow, every spelling you forget is a buyer who hears nothing. One vendor comparison makes the same point: off-script comments can be missed when the trigger is a keyword (Kanal).

Then there are comments no keyword can sort. "Wach kayn livraison l Tanger?" (Is there delivery to Tangier?). "Chrit mn 3ndkom w mazal ma wslni" (I bought from you and it hasn't arrived). The first is a buyer. The second is a complaint that needs a person, not an automatic "Check your DMs!". For more on this, read our guide on answering "price?" comments on ads.

For a cash-on-delivery or WhatsApp shop, the useful message is the product, the price and an order link. You can build that in ManyChat, but per product.

Is automating comment replies risky?

It can be, for any tool. In April 2026, the Shopify app Commslayer turned off AI replies to Facebook and Instagram comments after Meta cited "automations that mimic human activity" (Commslayer changelog). In ManyChat's community, a moderator advised rotating keywords rather than using one everywhere, to lower the chance of Meta flags. That's forum advice, not a Meta rule.

Tact is set up to lower that risk: official Meta login and API only, at most one private message per comment inside Meta's 7-day limit, complaints and unclear comments held for you, and every reply editable. No tool can promise Meta will never restrict an account.

Who should pick which?

Pick ManyChat if:

  • You want to build flows: lead magnets, quizzes, bookings, follow-ups.
  • You run giveaways or "comment a word" posts where people use your keyword.
  • You need broadcasts, email, SMS, TikTok or Telegram.
  • Your audience is small. The Free plan costs nothing.

Pick Tact if:

  • Your ads get more comments than you can answer the same hour.
  • Buyers write in Darija, Dziri or Gulf Arabic, in Arabic or Latin letters.
  • You sell cash on delivery or take orders on WhatsApp.
  • You don't want to build and maintain a keyword flow for every product.
  • You want unclear comments and complaints held for you, not answered by a bot.

You can also use both: ManyChat for DM flows and broadcasts, Tact for ad comments. If you're also weighing Meta's free tools, read Tact vs Meta Business Suite.

Frequently asked questions

Is ManyChat good for comment automation?

Yes. ManyChat is a large, Meta-approved platform with comment triggers, DM flows, lead capture, broadcasts and an AI add-on in its paid plans. It is a strong choice if you are happy to build flows and your buyers use predictable keywords.

Why look for a ManyChat alternative?

Mostly when your ad comments don't fit keywords: many spellings of the same question, Darija or Gulf Arabic in Latin letters, complaints mixed in with buyers, and orders that close on WhatsApp or cash on delivery. Then a tool that reads each comment can save setup time.

Does Tact replace ManyChat?

No. Tact only answers comments on your Facebook and Instagram ads and posts, sends one private reply with an order link, and hides spam. It has no flow builder, broadcasts, email or TikTok. If you rely on those, keep ManyChat.

Is Tact proven?

Not yet. Tact is new and has no customers, reviews or results to show. ManyChat says over 1 million creators, marketers and brands use it. Try Tact on your own comments with the 3-day trial before deciding.
